Managing The Servers List

Before you can start a HotDBWAN operation, you need to have at least two servers on the servers list.

Adding a New Server

To connect to an available SQL Server instance, click on "Add Server" in the "Servers" menu.

Enter your server (instance) name, user name and password. Click on the "..." button for HotDBWAN to try and find all the available SQL Server instances on the network.
If the database server accepts windows authentication, check the "Use Windows Authentication" checkbox. Click on the "Connect" button.

If HotDBWAN was not yet activated on the server, HotDBWAN will ask you to activate. To learn more about HotDBWAN server activation, click here.

Removing a Server

In order to remove a server from HotDBWAN, click on the server node in the servers list and click on "Remove Server" in the "Servers" menu.

Note : Servers who participate in one ore more packages cannot be removed.

Refreshing a Server

If changes were made on the SQL Server instance or on one of its databases from outside HotDBWAN, you might want to update the application. Click on the server node in the servers list and click on "Refresh Server" in the "Servers" menu.

Clear Servers List

In order to clear the servers list and the packages list as a result, click on "Clear Servers List" in the "Servers" menu.
